Registration Information

Users of Winlog32 can now register their support with the author for a small fee. However, Winlog32 will remain FREE to use by all Ham's and SWL's as before.

The registration fee will be regarded as a donation towards development costs. In return you will get priority help and the satisfaction of helping and encouraging development.
All registered users will receive a special feature add-on for Winlog32 as a 'Thank You' free of charge. It will be available to registered users only, this feature is well worth having!.

How to Register...
To register, please send a donation of £10 UK Pounds or whatever lesser or greater amount that you feel you can afford, and I shall return to you the registration details via email if it is possible. I can also accept US Dollars from overseas preferably in cash but sending money, (well hidden inside an envelope) is at your own risk.
International Money Orders and foreign currencies attract too many bank charges to be of much benefit.

I can accept online payments in US$ or GBP via PAYPAL, this may benefit overseas users who may prefer a more secure method than sending cash through the post.

Here are some questions answered regarding Registration...

Will there be any restrictions in Winlog32 if I do NOT wish to register?

None, except you will not have the special feature.

Will I still be able to obtain help from the Author if I do NOT wish to register ?

Yes, of course but registered users get priority, other mail will be dealt with when time allows.

Will there be any "Register this" prompts?

None.

Will there be any indication of whether the software is registered?

Yes, the start screen will indicate 'Registered', the Main title bar will show that it is registered with the registered users callsign displayed, the 'About' window will contain registration details and once installed the special feature will be available. The only indication that the software is not registered is within the 'About' window.

What if I change my callsign or loose my registration details?

If you change your callsign or loose your existing registration details you must apply to me for a new Registration Number or Registration Document, there is no charge for this.

How long does registration last?

The registration fee is a one-time payment, it will last for the foreseeable future.

Can I give my registration details to a friend?

The answer is to be left with your own conscience.

I cannot afford a registration payment, can I still have the feature?

In order to be fair to those who have been kind enough to register, the answer must be no.

What is the FEATURE that I will receive?

MAPS, these can be activated from the toolbar, the map displayed will be the current 'DXCC Country' as determined by the prefix search. There are presently around 230 maps available depicting DXCC countries. Not all DXCC are represented, but this feature will be expanded and improved as time allows - any additions or improvements to the maps will be made available to registered users.
The 2D maps will generally be around 400x400 resolution and will take up most of a 640x480 screen, because of widely differing map scales, detail varies accordingly. Large countries e.g. Canada, Russia will only have principal cities indicated, smaller countries e.g. some islands may be quite detailed. There is NO topographical detail in the Maps. Maps have Country, Prefix of DXCC Country and prefixes of surrounding countries, together with IOTA reference if appropriate (depending on map detail and scale). Maps are for 'Amateur Radio' guidance only, no accuracy can be guaranteed or is implied - THIS IS NOT AN ATLAS!!

Is the feature built into Winlog32?

No. In order to use the feature, you must download an add-on. Details on how to obtain this package will be sent to you once your registration has been confirmed.
